The creative itch... a funny thing. It pulls and pushes you, keeps you awake at night, and catapults you out of bed in the morning.

For the first chunk of my life, I didn’t consider myself a creative person but the itch was certainly there - I just couldn’t identify nor satisfy it. Instead, I wandered around galleries, craft fairs and markets, and subscribed to architectural and design magazines; and put myself in service of creative people – just to be around that energy.

When that itch became undeniable I tried my hand at making jewelry and was astonished when people wanted to buy it. I dabbled in other mediums - and then enrolled in classes at Emily Carr University of Art & Design. A new and thrilling world opened up.

I became more confident in my art making and in my work as a writer - and now see that we are all creative creatures. The clothes we wear, the colour of our sheets, the gifts we choose for others are all creative choices. Here are some of mine.
